I can’t find my… Homework, quizzes, notes I don’t remember what we did yesterday I’m sure it’s in, My locker… My room… My bookbag… I was absent, what did I miss?

4 What is an Interactive Notebook?
A place where all of your work – notes and classwork – will be kept Your own personal textbook! A great resource for studying A wonderful organization tool A place to be colorful and creative while showing me what you’ve learned Allows you to look at materials closely and use higher-order thinking skills

6 Each Page will be numbered so we’re all on the same page.
Let us number pages 1-25 right now Left is for Learning Right is for Reflection Left is Even Right is Odd

Table of Contents Leave the first five pages for the Table of Contents

8 The IN is divided into TWO sections:
Left Side Right Side Learning side Contains info my teacher tells me to “ADD” or “WRITE” This is the “input” side or info side. Reflection, Reaction, Response side This is YOUR work. This is the side that you can use to show me what you learned in a creative and colorful way. This is the “output” or product side.

11 Stuck on how to reflect? What are you curious about?
What would you like to test? What was the main idea of the information given by the teacher? What are the important details to remember? How does this relate to your life? What don’t you understand? Write a comic strip that incorporate the main ideas your teacher presented.

14 Notebook Rules Do not RIP OUT pages or tear corners.
All handouts MUST BE GLUED/TAPE IN! Please don’t DOODLE unless it relates to class. Your IN should only be used for this CLASS and STAY IN CLASS EVERYDAY! (unless I ask you to REFLECT for homework) Each page should have the DATE, Title, and PAGE#. BE COLORFUL, CREATIVE, & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK!

15 1st Step 1 – ON THE FRONT COVER – write your name and class period
2 – ON THE FIRST PAGE – create an Acrostic poem with these guidelines: Must use at least 3 colors and draw at least 3 pictures
