Notebook Supplies: What you need EVERYDAY Erasable pens & pencils 100 Page composition Notebook Glue stick (several thru the year) colored pencils

8 IAN Guidelines Write neatly and clearly Number pages in upper corners
Correct mistakes Record the title and date on each page Keep your Table-of-Contents current Label all drawings Use sentences to communicate your observations, plans, explanations, and conclusions

Input is all the information that you are supposed to learn Write down information you are given in class Use Cornell-style notes Write legibly, use highlighting and color to make important information stand out Be sure to date and label each page with a heading

Write ALL entries in the Table of Contents Please don’t DOODLE unless it relates to science BE COLORFUL & LOVE YOUR NOTEBOOK

Using what we discussed as a class, decide what type of characteristics a “scientist” might have List these characteristics on Page 1 (3 minutes) Discuss your list with your partner, add anything new you and your partner discussed (3 minutes) Get with a group of 4, using everyone’s individual list, create a group list of scientist characteristics (3 minutes)
