What are the organ systems in your body? Organ systems work together to carry out life activities. We will study four organ systems: the digestive, respiratory, circulatory, and excretory systems.

What do organ systems do? Digestive – breaks down food into nutrients Respiratory – brings oxygen into the lungs

What do organ systems do? Circulatory – carries oxygen from lungs to cells in the body Excretory – removes wastes from the body

How are body materials transported? These organ systems are called transport systems, because they transport (move) things throughout the body.

How are body materials transported? Digestive System – Transports food & nutrients Respiratory System – Transports oxygen Circulatory System – Transports nutrients, oxygen, and wastes

How are body materials transported? Excretory System – Transports wastes such as carbon dioxide and sweat
