2. Main function
The main function of the circulatory system is to transport blood to all parts of the body so that gases, nutrients, and waste products are transported to and from the cells

3. 3 major parts of the circulatory system
Blood Vessels - routes blood travels
Heart – pumps or pushes blood through body
Blood – carries important “ *stuff ” through body
Stuff includes oxygen, food, and waste

4. Blood vessels
Blood Vessels resemble very long and skinny tunnels that are all through your body.
3 types:
Arteries
Capillaries
Veins

5. Arteries Carry blood Away from the heart
Carries blood that has oxygen & nutrients to all parts of the body

9. Blood 4 parts Plasma- liquid part of blood
Red blood cells- carry oxygen to all parts of the body
White blood cells- fight and kill germs that may enter your system
Platelets- form scabs when you cut yourself, helps stop bleeding
