One marine map

Background of the One Marine Map -RADM. Sirichai Noeythong, Director of Navigational support center, Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy, has been appointed by the Royal Thai Navy to be one of the Public health and Environment Committees of National Reform Steering Assembly -Extracted from proposal of RADM. Sirichai Noeythong, Director of Navigational support center, Hydrographic Department, Royal Thai Navy, propose to The Committees of National Reform Steering Assembly.

Current situation -On land, there is an integrating project, names “One Map” for solving the different maps between governmental organizations. -In the sea, there is “One Marine Map” project which has been draft and contained in the 20 years national maritime strategic plan. -No common chart for all maritime governmental agencies Department of forestry, Agricultural Land Reform Office, Department of Irrigation, Department of lands.

The need of maritime spatial planning 1. Collaboration between maritime governmental agencies. 2. Harmonized with the 20 years national maritime strategy (2017 – 2036) and the national development plan. 3. Plan the maritime spatial zoning management in all dimensions.

Thai waters charts 1. Base map for holistic management. 2. Illustrate all maritime activities of all governmental agencies. 3. Use for solving conflict of overlapping activities’ zone in all dimensions.

Who is going to use the charts? Thai waters charts (High level of policy maker) for policy making at the national level to department levels cascading plan to provincial level. Group of provincial charts (Group of provincial planning committee) for the head of provincial groups and their involving provinces to collaborate in planning maritime activities in their waters. Provincial charts (Individual province ‘s management/governor) for committee at provincial level to monitor all activities in province waters, and law enforcement between 23 provinces along the coasts of Thailand
