GCSE History How will I be assessed? WHAT? Component 2 – WHAT? Shaping the nation (50% of GCSE) Britain: Health and Medicine (Black Death, Barber surgeons, The Great Plague, Revolution in Surgery, Medicine during WWI, AIDS ) Norman England, 1066-1100 (Battle of Hastings, Feudal System, Castles and other ways in which the Normans controlled England) WHAT? Component 1 – Understanding the Modern World (50% of GCSE) The USA, 1920-1973 (‘Roaring 20s, Prohibition and Gangsters, The Depression, The Civil Rights Movement and the reaction to war in Vietnam) 2. Conflict and tension, 1918-1939 (The end of WWI, The Treaty of Versailles, The League of Nations, Hitler’s foreign policy and outbreak of WWII) End Regular assessments (after each topic you will sit a mock exam ) 2.
