Concept Review Why do we do multiple trials in an experiment? Scientists should do multiple trials (repeat experiment) to ensure results are reliable and rule out mistakes

Technology is the application of science for practical purposes. What is the minimum number of trials that should be done in an experiment? 3 trials 3. What is technology? Technology is the application of science for practical purposes.

Share an example of how Scientists use the following technology: a. computer: b. binoculars: c. telescope: d. compound light microscope: collect, store & show data (helpful for complex mathematical problems) help see things far away used to look at distant objects (planets & starts) magnify small objects like cells

How are models useful to scientists? 5. What is a model? A model is something scientists use to represent an object or event in order to make it easier to study. How are models useful to scientists? Models are useful because they allow scientists to predict what hasn’t happened yet, what happened long ago, and to study things that are very small (atoms) or large (Earth).

Explain the limitations of models to science. Can’t learn everything by studying a model because they’re not exactly like the objects they represent.

8. What measurement tool & S. I 8. What measurement tool & S.I. Unit are used to find the following measurement? Measurement Measurement Tool S.I. Unit Length Mass Volume Temperature metric ruler or meter stick meters triple beam balance grams graduated cylinder or metric ruler liters or cubic meters thermometer Kelvin

Bar, Line and Pie graphs are used to show certain types of data Bar, Line and Pie graphs are used to show certain types of data. How do you decide what kind of graph should be used? a. bar graph: compares data b. line graph: shows change over time c. pie graph: shows percentage

10. Why is scale important in models? Shows how the size of the model is related to the size of the object it represents.
