Promotion Requirements To be promoted from grade 9 to grade 10, students need a minimum of 5 credits of 7 possible: 1 credit Math 1 credit English To be promoted from grade 10 to grade 11, students need a minimum of 10 credits to include: 2 credits math 2 credits English 1 credit in science 1 credit in social studies

Promotion Requirements To be promoted from Grade 11 to Grade 12, students need a minimum of 15 credits: 3 credits in math 3 credits in English 2 credits in science 2 credits in social studies

Who should I contact about my child’s grades? The teacher is the first point of contact If you still have questions or concerns after speaking with the teacher, then contact your child’s counselor Your counselor will direct you to the appropriate administrator if needed

Dates to remember… Sept 15th --Freshman meetings with counselors begin October 14th – PSAT December 7th --Freshman begin work with counselors in Family Connections January 15th --Final Exam week starts Jan/Feb Registration for 2015-2016 ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

PSAT All 9th Graders take the PSAT. There is the option of taking a practice, self-graded PSAT or register and pay for the PSAT, which will be scored by College Board All 10th Graders take the PSAT, which is paid for by Montgomery County Public Schools All 11th Graders should take the PSAT in October. This is the official test to qualify for the National Merit Scholarships. Students must register and pay for this administration.
