This only works when the student takes advantage of the available services which include but are not limited to the following: Career Interest Inventories (Go Center) Resume Writing and Job Applications (Go Center) Classroom Speakers Lunch and Learn Series Career/College Fairs Professional Panels Job shadowing Internships Site Based Learning Experiences (Field Trips)

Advice for Junior Year Review your academic plan with your counselor. Use CFNC.org and other resources to find free practice tests for the SAT/ACT. Check admissions requirements of colleges that interest you. Attend college fairs and financial aid workshops. Visit colleges. Start researching scholarships, grants, and loans using CFNC.org Find a summer job or internship in your field of interest. (contact our CDC, Ms. Meeks) Register for the SAT/ACT. Take rigorous courses senior year (AP=1.0 weighted GPA, Honors=.5 weighted GPA) Talk with coaches about college sports and scholarship eligibility.
