Library Book/Online stories Jan 23 , 2017 Week 4 3rd 9 Weeks Issue # 4 Mrs. Castellano's Class Weekly Objectives Library Book/Online stories . Language Arts – Fiction & Non fiction, characters, setting, plot, Problem and solution, Parts of a book-glossary, table of contents, past tense endings, declarative and interrogative sentences, prepositions, plural nouns, author’s purpose. Math – Data on bar graphs, pictographs, tally. Science – Water Cycle and weather. Social Studies – How weather affects settlements. Monday: Write each spelling word 3 times, CATs pg. 69-answ question for Monday. Math. Use dictionary for spelling words. Tuesday–1. Write the spelling words in alphabetical order (ABC).2. Write a sentence for spelling words 1-10; Math sheet, CATS pg. 69; Library book. Work on timeline. Wednesday–1. Write a sentence for spelling words (11-20); Write a sentence for all vocabulary words; CATS p. 69; Library Book. Work on timeline. Thursday–1. Practice for spelling test. Study vocabulary words; Math sheet; p.69. Read Library book. Work on timeline. Friday-Read for (20) twenty minutes each day using your library book everyday. Read on the weekends. Work on timeline. Sign tests and return. TESTING ALL DAY. No absences, please. Thank you for taking your children to the doctor after 10:00am. Homework Spelling Words Pattern: aw, au, all, alk Straw, chalk, talk, tall, fall, ball, paw, saw, autumn, haunted, hawk, yawn, haul, lawn, pawn, law, fault, faucet, because, cause, gnaw, halt Vocabulary Words Story: A Way to Help Planet Earth 1.Conservation: To protect something from finishing such as water, food, things. 2.Remains: Something that is left over. 3.Trouble: To do something wrong. Danger or worry. 4.Extinct: Something no longer exists. 5.Hardest: Something is difficult to do. Time Line Due: Friday, February 3, 2017. Please read rubric on the back of the Timeline instructions to help students get a good grade. Quality of work, knowledge, presentation, and writing are important. Thank you for helping your child get 100% on these projects. 12 Students continue to have PERFECT ATTENDANCE!! 2. Please read CAT books with your child and ask questions. 3. Read online books: storylineonline. Lexia. Bookflix. 4. Thank you for checking the math homework. 5. All tests go home on Fridays. Please check, sign and return. 6. Tutoring continues Tues and Thurs. Thank you for picking up non-tutoring students by 3:20pm so that we can start our tutoring on time. 7. Conference time: 12:55pm to 1:20pm. Please call to schedule a meeting. 8.
