Mr. Seger’s Integrated Science Class Procedures Code of Conduct Consequences

Procedures for Entering Classroom Students will…. NOT enter the classroom if the teacher is NOT in the room. Prior to entering the classroom-- Make sure you have ALL materials. Enter the classroom Calmly, Quietly, and Respectfully. Prior to the bell-- Turn in all homework, collect graded papers, or ask the teacher any questions WALK to his/her seat. IMMEDIATELY take out materials necessary for bell work and SILENTLY begin working. DO NOT BEGIN TALKING.

Procedures for Bell work Students will…. Refer to the white board/projector for bell work instructions. Write the question into your Interactive Science Notebook on the correctly assigned page Entries must have: Date (underlined), Each Question written and answered Have ONLY FIRST FIVE minutes to work on and complete the bell work. Student WILL NOT WAIT FOR BELL TO RING TO BEGIN BELL WORK. There will be a WEEKLY ASSESSMENT covering the content of bell work. Absent bell work MUST be made up

Procedures for Moving around the Classroom Students will…. ALWAYS MOVE IN A QUIET, RESPECTFUL MANNER. NOT go behind Teacher’s Desk/Demonstration Counter unless directed to do so. NOT DISTURB any person in the classroom while moving about the classroom. Complete the task quickly and quietly WITHOUT moving furniture, or making a MESS!!! CLEAN UP AFTER YOURSELF!!! Staples, cut paper, scissors, pencils, glue, etc.

Procedures for Missing work Students will… All work will be posted on class website: www.segerscience.weebly.com Check with table partner or teacher BEFORE the bell rings at the BEGINNING of class for any missed work due to an absence or AFTER class is over. All Absent/Missing work gets handed in the bin labeled “Make-up Work” within 5 Days of the Absence It is the student’s responsibility to obtain ALL missing work!!! Work Turned in WITHOUT A NAME on it will be placed in the bin in the front of class Labeled “Work With No Name” WORK WITH NO NAME = ZERO!!! It is your Responsibility to make sure your name is on your Work!!

Procedures for Turning in Papers Studnets will… Place all papers into the bin with CORRECT class period Only Walk SILENTLY to the bin, Locate the Appropriately Labeled bin, NEATLY place work inside, and PROMPTLY return to seat. Work placed in the incorrect bin may result in losing credit on the assignment TURNING IN ASSESSMENTS Stack Assessments neatly on the side table in front of the graded papers Place Answer Sheets and Assessments in TWO separate stacks– NEATLY This NOT THIS

Procedures for Asking Questions Studnets will…. Quietly and Calmly raise their hand and WAIT for the teacher to acknowledge them. NOT SHOUT OUT ANY ANSWERS. Give the answers ONLY when called upon. Use a loud and clear voice when giving an answer, so the entire class can hear the response. Everyone WILL be called on at some point (No use hiding)

Procedures for Students that Finish Early Students will… NOT begin talking. Work on homework for another academic class or READ. Everyone should have a book Receive a ZERO on the current assignment or test for disturbing others Talking during a Quiz or Assessment WILL result in an automatic ZERO, no discussions.

Procedures for Leaving the Classroom Students will… NOT leave the classroom when the bell rings. NOT wait by the door prior to the bell-- Remain seated. The Teacher or Guest Teacher WILL dismiss the class. Only be allowed to use the restroom pass when pass is available NOT DISTRUB class discussions/lectures in order to go. Abuse of Hall Pass will result in the Hall Pass privilege being removed. Sign out Prior to using the pass and Promptly sign back in upon return. 7th Period ONLY Make sure ALL chairs are placed on top of the tables You will be directed when to stack chairs– DO Not stack them early

Interactive Science Notebook (Lab Book) Students will… Keep a single subject notebook Be RESPONSIBLE for ALL material that goes into the notebook. Lab books will be grading once per grading period Grade will be equivalent to a test grade Students will Not be able to leave class to retrieve the notebook from locker, backpack, or other class Be able to store notebook NEATLY in the assigned bin

Procedures for a Substitute Students will… Treat ALL substitutes as if Mr. Seger was in the room. Accept that Consequences WILL BE FOR THE ENTIRE CLASS You are a team Teams rise or fall together THERE WILL BE NO EXCUSES! Consequences include, but are NOT limited to: Referral, Additional Assignments, Essay Writing, Removal of Labs, etc. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILTY TO RESPECT A GUEST TEACHER!

Things you Don’t Have to Ask For Sharpening your pencil Throwing away trash Getting a tissue (if there is any in classroom) Standing up to stretch Learning

Code of Conduct Be in your seat when the bell rings and SILENT. Bring ALL materials to class each day. Keep hands, feet, and objects to YOURSELF. RESPECT will ALWAYS be given to everyone, so that learning can always take place LISTEN to INSTRUCTIONS the FIRST time they are given.

Reminders!!!!! NO BACKPACKS OR GUM!!! Teacher or Guest Teacher Dismisses the class!! Put your name on your paper!! Be Respectful!! Bring ALL your stuff Even if you don’t think you need it!! LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS…. LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS…. LISTEN TO INSTRUCTIONS! DON’T WHINE!!!! It doesn’t get any easier 
