How to Apply for a Clara Abbott Foundation Scholarship Application Available: April 30 Application Deadline: May 30 Welcome to the 2018/2019 February scholarship deadline. The Foundation has a new online application system. This presentation takes you through the new process step-by-step. Step 1: Visit The Foundation’s Website: clara.abbott.com Your first step will be to visit The Clara Abbott Foundation’s website at clara.abbott.com to make sure you are eligible for a scholarship. You can confirm eligibility under the Apply For Help section. Once confirmed, you can now click on “Apply Now.”

Step 2: Setting up an account The next step will be to create a new account by clicking on the “Account Setup” button. If you have already applied for a scholarship in the past, your information will be already entered into the system. In that case, simply select “forgot my password” and follow the instructions.

Step 2: Account Setup PLEASE NOTE: The person setting up this account should be the Abbott employee. Fill in all required fields to set up your account including first name, email address and preferred language. PLEASE NOTE: the person setting up this account should be the Abbott employee.

Account Setup Complete Once you fill in all required information, your account setup is complete. A temporary password will be emailed to you and you will be required to change your password when you return to the Login page.

Change Your Password After you receive your temporary password, you can now login to the system. Return to the Sign in page and login in with your temporary password. You will be prompted to change your password. The password should be a minimum of six characters.

Portal Once you create your new password, the system will then take you to your new portal. The next step will be to create a profile. Click the ‘My Profile’ button at the top right of the screen to get started.

Step 3: Create a Profile To create your profile, you will need to fill in all the required fields (those with a red asterisk).

Family Information Towards the bottom, you will notice the ‘Family Information’ button. Completing this step is REQUIRED for submitting a scholarship application. Click the “Enter Family Details” to continue.

Family information When you click the Family Information button, this screen will appear. Click on the plus sign to add dependents. Please add ALL dependents to this box. Once you save your changes, you will return to the previous screen where you can finish entering your information. When finished, click Complete and Exit Profile.

Profile: Complete and Exit The system will then prompt you to go to your home page by clicking HOME. Now that your profile is complete, you can start a new application.

Home Page/Portal You have now successfully completed setting up both an account and your profile. This screen shows your personalized, Clara home page. From this page you can start a new application, view your submitted applications, and see any “to do” activities that The Foundation may require you to complete before processing your application. You can also view your profile by clicking on My Profile. Click on Start a New Application to continue.

Review Profile Information The system will ask you to review all of your profile information to ensure that it’s correct. If correct, Click Continue to Application.

Step 4: Complete the Application Enter requested information into the application. As you answer questions, other parts of the application will appear.

Complete the Application (cont.) When you get to this question, make sure to select “College/University financial aid”when applying for a scholarship.

Complete the Application (cont.) Please note, when you come to the question, ‘Who is the student?’ a drop down menu will list ALL the dependents that you entered in your family information box. Choose the dependent that is requesting assistance with school. Continue to enter the rest of the information.

Submit the Application At this point you can upload your income documents. Income documents may be things like full pay statement from 2017, pension statements, etc. Please note that ALL employees are required to submit an income document. After documents are uploaded, be sure to provide your electronic signature and click “Submit” to complete your application.

Case Submission Successful Your application has now been submitted to The Clara Abbott Foundation. The Foundation will review your application and notify you if we need any additional information and when a decision is made on your application.
