What is Internet Explorer? a Web browser* produced by the Microsoft Corporation *a software application used to locate and display Web pages

The IE Window

The IE Window Toolbars

Click a button to learn about its function!

Back returns you to a previously displayed page. The drop down arrow gives you a list of pages that are behind you. You can quickly jump to one of these pages by selecting a title and clicking once. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Forward moves you to where you last left off. The drop down arrow gives you a list of pages that are in front of you. You can quickly jump to one of these pages by selecting a title and clicking once. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Stop prevents Internet Explorer from loading a page. If a page is taking too long to download, then use this button to stop IE from loading the rest of the page. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Refresh updates the data on the Internet Explorer screen. If images or text dont load properly the first time, simply click this button to re-load the entire page. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Home returns you to the first page you saw when you opened Internet Explorer. This page can be changed by clicking on the Tools menu > Internet Options…>General Tab. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Search allows opens and closes a Search page on the left hand side of the window. The search page includes tools to help you look for web information. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Favorites opens and closes a list of your favorite Web links. You can add links and organize them in this list that opens to the left of the window. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

History opens and closes a list of Web pages you have visited earlier. Use this button to quickly get you to something you visited 20 pages ago or even several days ago. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Mail opens and closes the program you use for sending and receiving (Outlook Express or Microsoft Outlook). Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar.

Print sends the current page of text and images to your printer. If you want to print only a selection or page from the site, go to File > Print Preview or File > Print. Click the selected button again to find out more about the toolbar. Continue to Menus
