Performing Commands Using the Toolbar –Back button returns to last visited page (Alt+left arrow). –Forward button becomes available once the Back button has been used (Alt+right arrow).

Can include the web site that you will go to by clicking a link, or just the function of a button. Sometimes called a tool tip. Another protocol is ftp, or File Transfer Protocol. A protocol is a set of rules for transferring data over the Internet. :// Three characters identified by Internet creators for separating the protocol from the rest of the Web address. These particular three characters were identified because they had never appeared together in computer programs and other computer-related contexts. www.firstgov.gov The domain name. In this case, the domain name includes the abbreviation for World Wide Web (www), the name of the organization, and the domain type—.gov stands for government. Not all domain names start with www, but many do. Other domain types include.com (commercial),.edu (education),.org (organization),.net (network),.mil (military), and.mus (music). Most countries have their own domain types such as.ca for Canada and.fr for France,.eg for Egypt etc.

Linked Web pages can be pages within the same Web site or Web pages on sites of other companies, schools, or organizations.

IE includes an Instant Search box that connects to a default search engine (Windows Live) and easily enables additional engines to be added.

In File name box, provide an identifiable file name that will be easy to locate. In the Save as Type box, note the type of file. Download and save the file on your computer before trying to use it.

The Print dialog box in Internet Explorer contains options that enable you to print pages, or a table of pages, that are linked to the active Web page.
