System Configuration System with 4 Sensors ECU Located at the Rear Quarter Panel

RPAS Function Overview Turn the ignition to ON & Start the engine Press the clutch Change the gear to Reverse Take the vehicle behind the vehicle near to object

RPAS Components SENSOR RPAS ECU INFOTAINMENT Driver Side Speaker

Architecture SENSOR RPAS ECU INFOTAINMENT CAN Driver Side Speaker

Distance & Display Left zone indicates obstacle in Left side Center zone indicates obstacle in Center Right zone indicates obstacle in Right Bars 1, 2, 3 and 4 indicate how close the obstacle is from vehicle bumper. 1 is very close and 4 is far off from vehicle bumper Distance indicator is to display the distance of the closest obstacle. Distance indicator will display as STOP if any of the obstacle is less than 50cm from vehicle bumper.

Distance & Display If obstacle is in between 100 to 120cm – Bar 4 in that direction will be switched ON If obstacle is in between 75 to 100cm – Bar 3 & 4 in that direction will be switched ON If obstacle is in between 50 to 75cm – Bar 2, 3 & 4 in that direction will be switched ON If obstacle is less than 50cm – All bars in that direction will be switched ON

Distance & Display 5. Distance indicator will display the distance in multiples of 2cm whichever is shortest Along with this beep sound will coming from driver side speaker. Frequency of the beep will increase if obstacle coming closer (crossing each zones) and the sound will be continuous if any of the obstacle is less than 50cm. Turn the gear from Reverse to any forward or neutral, Display without the obstacle indication will be there for 10sec or vehicle speed crossing 10kmph which ever is earlier.

RPAS System Error If sensor Not Connected If ECU Not Connected Corresponding side direction will be with cross mark Complete direction indication will be cross mark

System Limitation System cannot sense the wire mesh, handrail, small objects and some obstacle which are coming below the bumper level System cannot sense the obstacle like cotton or spongy surface which will absorb ultrasonic waves easily. System performance is dependent on the reflection angle of the obstacle. System will give wrong signal on reversing the vehicle on grasslands and bumpy roads. System may give wrong signal while vehicle moving from plain ground to sloppy ground or vice versa System may give wrong signal by sensing the ground when the bumper is tilted more from the normal position or when the vehicle is heavily overloaded. System may give false alarm during the heavy rain conditions and during the snow conditions and heavy wind conditions. Clean the sensors make them free from ice, dust, water etc. for proper working of the system.

Caution This system is an aiding system and it should not replace the need to drive carefully. Under no circumstances will the manufacturer accept any responsibility or can be held liable for any direct or indirect, incidental or consequential damage caused by this system System will not sense the pot holes or the trenches or drainages which are below the ground level. Please practice reverse parking using different obstacle to grasp this product performance. Repainting of the sensor will affect the performance of the system.

Sensor Connector And Pin Out Details

RPAS Error S.No Malfunction Action Causes 1 RPAS image in the infotainment is not coming on engaging the gear in Reverse Reverse Signal not available to EMS ECU Engage the gear in Reverse and check whether the reverse lamp is glowing.   If not glowing check for the reverse switch connection/switch If glowing, Check for the connection to the EMS ECU CAN wire in the Infotainment/EMS may be short/disconnected Connect the diagnostic tester and check for CAN related DTC for Infotainment or EMS (U 1101 or U 1001) If present check the connections and clear the DTC

RPAS Error S.No Malfunction Action Causes 2 RPAS image is showing with the Cross mark on the left zone Left sensor in the bumper may be disconnected / Faulty Check for DTC (B 2530) Check for the Rear left sensor connection in the bumper whether it is properly connected Check for DTC (B 2531) Change the Rear Left sensor. 3 RPAS image is showing with the Cross mark on the Right zone Right sensor in the bumper may be disconnected / Faulty Check for DTC (B 2560) Check for the Rear right sensor connection in the bumper whether it is properly connected Check for DTC (B 2561) Change the Rear Right sensor.

RPAS Error S.No Malfunction Action Causes 4 RPAS image is showing with the Cross mark on the Center zone Any of the two center sensors in the bumper may be disconnected / Faulty Check for DTC (B 2540 / B 2550) Check for the center sensors connection in the bumper according to the DTC whether it is connected or not Check for DTC (B 2541) Change the Rear Left center sensor Check for DTC (B 2551) Change the Rear Right center sensor 5 RPAS image is showing System Fault in the distance display RPAS ECU may be disconnected/Faulty Check for the RPAS ECU fuse and if blown replace the same Check for the RPAS connection whether it is properly connected Connect the diagnostic tester and check for any DTC for the RPAS ECU (U 2501/02/03/04) Change the ECU

RPAS Error S.No Malfunction Action Causes 6 During RPAS, Direction indication and distance is coming correctly, but the alert sound is not coming from the speakers Driver side speaker may be disconnected / shorted / faulty Check for the driver side speaker connection from infotainment to speaker Check for any DTC B1901 for speaker in the infotainment and act accordingly 7 During Reverse, infotainment is displaying obstacle detected without any obstacle Rear bumper may be damaged / sensor in the bumper is tilted towards the ground Fix the bumper / Sensor holder properly and if the bumper is more tilted towards the ground, change the bumper

RPAS Error S.No Malfunction Action Causes 8 During Reverse, intermittently getting indication as obstacle present without any obstacle Sensors may be covered with mud Clean the sensor gently Rear bumper may be damaged / sensor in the bumper is tilted towards the ground Fix the bumper / Sensor holder properly and if the bumper is more tilted towards the ground, change the bumper 9 RPAS screen in Infotainment is present even without the gear in Reverse Reverse switch connection to the EMS ECU may be shorted Check for any DTC in the reverse switch in EMS ECU. If so act accordingly Check for the connection of the Reverse Switch to the EMS ECU

RPAS Error S.No Malfunction Action Causes 10 RPAS screen in the Infotainment is present, but obstacle is not detected by the sensor Reverse signal may not be available to the RPAS ECU Check for the RPAS connection Sensor may be covered with mud/any other material Clean the sensor gently/remove the material around the sensor
