EMPLOYEE ENGAGEMENT SURVEY RESULTS April 2018

Survey Overview Objective: Benchmark various factors and actions affecting employee wellbeing within OI&T and track their progress. Population: All OI&T employees Survey Dates: April 16-30 Oct 2017 Jan 2018 Apr 2018 Response # 1,253 1,328 1,371 Response % 15.7 16.7 17.1

Executive Summary

Employee Recognition My supervisor/manager gives proper recognition for a job well done. Employees are treated with respect here, irrespective of their job position.

Teamwork People on my team take the initiative to really help each other when the need arises. My team collaborates with other teams across the organization to effectively accomplish work objectives.

Teamwork (Contd.) My team members coach and train each other. I can count on my supervisor/manager to support me when I need assistance.

Leadership OIT Executives (SES and above) communicate the organizational updates, new policies, and changes in procedures on a timely basis. I think OIT is moving in the right direction.

Leadership (Contd.) OIT Leadership provides a clear direction for succession planning. I know how my work relates to the agency’s goals and priorities.

Leadership (Contd.) In my organization, senior leaders generate high levels of motivation and commitment in the workforce. In my organization, senior leaders maintain high standards of honesty and integrity.

Leadership Communication (Contd.) I have a high level of respect for my organization’s senior leaders.

Empowerment Employees are treated with respect here, irrespective of their job position. I am empowered to make decisions related to my job.

Empowerment (Contd.) I feel encouraged to come up with new and better ways of doing things. My supervisor listens to what I have to say.

Training OIT as an organization supports my career development plans. I do have enough training opportunities in VA to advance my skills.

Training (Contd.) My team supports partnering with other teams to improve employee skillset. Supervisors in my work unit support employee development.

Employee Engagement Index I feel encouraged to come up with new and better ways of doing things. My work gives me a feeling of personal accomplishment.

Employee Engagement Index (Contd.) I know how my work relates to the agency’s goals and priorities. Supervisors in my work unit support employee development.

Workforce Capability Index My organization’s work positively impacts people’s lives. My team has the job-relevant knowledge and skills necessary to effectively accomplish my organization’s mission/goals.
