Smart Energy….is Energy Saved

Company Overview Smart Energy products are designed, supported and manufactured in South Africa by two well established electronic engineering companies. Both Semi Logix and East Coast Silicon have been around for the past 30 years investing in Research and Development to relieve the financial burden that the overstretched energy grid places on consumers. Our products support the Commercial and Residential sectors by saving money without sacrificing comfort, productivity or security. SMART ENERGY will improve your SUSTAINABILITY rating and positively impact on your bottom line.

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller) 59% energy SAVING

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller)   Air Conditioner Controller is Installed in the mains power line at the best position to pick up office activity. When the office is occupied the air conditioner operates as normal. When the occupant leaves , the controller will disconnect the power to the air conditioner after the pre-selected time delay has lapsed.

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller) IAC is installed in the mains power line to the air conditioner facing the office occupant The IAC uses Infra Red technology to sense office occupancy (5 to 8 meter range) Internal pre-set jumper settings can time out after the last motion is detected (5, 10, 20, 40 or 120 minutes) Internal Programme Profile supports the lifespan of the Air Conditioner Power Rated to support most residential and office-type applications for Air Conditioner units up to 24000 BTU. IAC’s are available in 110v and 220v AC configurations

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller) The Controller is SABS approved and patented (South African Bureau of Standards) The controller requires a Certified electrician for Installation (COC) It has a 1 year replacement warranty It is suitable for console, split and new inverter type air conditioners This unit is ideal for residences, offices and boardrooms Independent research by University of Pretoria in conjunction with our Grid supply Eskom shows a staggering 59% saving Data sample size 1743 IAC units Test duration 1 year 1/4/2012 to 31/3/2013 Testimonial available on request (see cover page on next slide)

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller) The graph below shows an actual case study of an office : hours days The Office was occupied for 14.08hrs in 7 days (weekend included) The air con was on for 38.6 hrs (3,2 kW air con unit) The lights were on for 48.24 hrs (350 watt lighting) The IAC would have kept this air con off for 26 hours in 7 days

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller) General Case study summary (South Africa) The average electricity price per kWh is R1.80 (US $0.15) Average office Air Conditioner is a 3kW unit , therefore cost per hour is R5.40 (R1.80 x3) (US $0.45) We could save you at least 2 hours per day 2 hours x 22 work days per month = 44 hours @ R5.40 per hour (US $0.45) = R237.60 per month sustainable saving (US $40.50) Note: this excludes incidentals where the Air Conditioner has been left on at night or weekends/holidays….these savings would be massive. Electricity prices will continue to increase…..

IAC (Intelligent Air Conditioner Controller) Conclusion: Air Conditioner power consumption is the single largest electricity cost to company in a standard office environment People seldom spend an entire working day in their office and rarely switch the Air Conditioner off when leaving if they know they will be returning later IAC controls this cost, saving the environment and saving the company money Viability studies prove that IAC will pay for itself within 3-4 months Opportunities are available to purchase IAC units either locally or internationally Licensing rights are also available for selected territories
