1 What you Pay to Utilities?
kWh & Maximum Demand. ( For Industrial and Commercial Customer only) KWh charges for Residential Customers. kWh : Are Energy Usages Chares base on Energy Consumption. Demand ( Charged during On-peak hrs only) Unit is kW Rate at which Electricity is used over the 30 minute interval 28 intervals in a day Max demand out of 840 intervals (30 days) Billing demand definition is various from country to country. Contract demand is amount of electric power (KW) demanded by consumer from power utility Connected Load is name plate readings (in KVA or KW) of all equipment in a industry Demand factor = maximum demand/ connected load

2 Analysis of Load Profile in a Day
45,711 is the Average Demand, RM 51,652 is the Peak Demand, RM © Det Norske Veritas AS. All rights reserved

3 Difference in Demand & kW

4 What is Demand “KILOWATTS OF MAXIMUM DEMAND” for any month shall be deemed to be twice the largest number of kilowatt-hours supplied during any consecutive thirty minutes in that month. Rising Demand = kwh / 0.30 h ( 30 Minutes time Interval) – ( A) Max.Demand = Highest recorded Rising demand during on Peak Hrs. for billing period

5 Avg 49,800 Max DM 51,652 DM Recording for July’ 07 Month in MW

6 Typical DM cycle

7 Rescheduling of non-essential LOADS
