Student Arrival & Dismissal 7:15-7:50 Students can go to the cafeteria or commons/pod area to wait until the bell rings 7:50-8:00 Students enter the classroom 8:00 Tardy Bell rings Student Dismissal If students are going home a different way then normal, I must have a note that is signed and dated by you (parent or guardian) stating their change for that day by 2:30. You must also call the front office Student dismissal is 3:25

Reading Expectations Students should enter 2nd grade on a level 16 By the end of the first nine weeks should be on level 18 Students should be on level 28 by the end of 2nd grade

2x2 Books List of books on library webpage & in homework folder Awarded for reading 5, 10, 15 and 20 books Encourage Reading Books are available in our library, but also public libraries Students are required to create a product to receive credit for their 2x2 Lists of product ideas are on the library website

Specials Specials will be: Please be sure to dress your child in tennis shoes for PE days as well as shorts under the skirts on those days.

Homework Folder & Agendas Folders: Please check each night for homework assignments, behavior marks, words for the week and special events. Please initial every night Please keep food/drinks away from homework and folders

Volunteering Room mom/dad: We will have a room mom/dad this year to handle organizing class parties, just let us know if you are interested Parent volunteers to help us out here at school or work on projects to help from home would be much appreciated We will have a field trip this year. Stay tuned for details. If you are interested in being a volunteer please make sure to let me know. You will need to fill out a safe schools form. A copy of this form is online on the Alvin ISD website. Giving Tree If you are able to donate, there are sticky notes on the table with items that are needed for our classrooms. Sharpies, card stock (various colors), Walmart gift cards, colored printer paper, packing tape, book rings, paper bags, Amazon & Barnes and Nobles gift cards, Scotch laminating sheets, etc… More items may be needed/requested as the year goes on! THANK YOU!!!!
