The Safety Technologies to Consider While Buying a New Car

The safety technology available in the latest cars act as an assistant to the driver that can help avoid or reduce the chances of a crash.

There are plenty of safety features that have worked their way into most cars manufactured over the past few years.

The features like the ABS and traction control provide better stopping and steering control, but there are also other safety technologies which provide advanced security.

Here are the safety features that one must consider while buying a new car.

Automatic Emergency Braking (AEB) and Brake Assist work to increase the stopping potential of the car.

Brake assist doesn’t stop the car, it simply applies additional pressure when it detects an emergency braking event by the driver.

AEB uses sensors to track slow or stopped traffic and urgently applies the brakes when an imminent collision is detected.

A driver drifting out of the lane can have catastrophic consequences and the lane keeping assist gently steers the car back into the right lane.

The lane keeping assist also warn you with a vibration, beep or buzz that your car is off the track.

But remember that it is less effective when lane markings are faded or not properly visible.

While driving down a steep and bumpy road, no driver wants to feel like the car is going out of control.

In a steep decline, by simply activating the hill descent assist keeps your car rolling down the hill at a constant safe speed.

The hill descent assist allows you to focus on the road and keep the wheels on the right track.

The parallel parking takes care of perfectly pulling the car into the tight spot in the parking space.

This feature will alert you when a spot has been located and it’s important to remember that you control the braking.

So, better to check the manufacturer’s instructions, but in many instances, you can override this feature by taking over the steering or completely stopping the maneuver by braking.
