Presentation transcript:

The brakes are one of the most important components of all the mechanisms in the car.

They play a vital role in the safety as well as handling of the car while driving on the road.

Proper maintenance of the brakes helps you to get rid of spending more on the brake repairs or replacement.

Here are some of the important regular brake maintenance tips for your brakes to be always in a proper working condition.

Check the brake fluid and make sure that the fluid is good and that it is at the appropriate level.

Leaving contaminated brake fluid can destroy the master cylinder, that's the reason it is advised to change such fluid.

Flushing the brake fluid enhances the performance of your brakes and also helps to keep the other brake components lubricated.

Always lower the speed of the car before applying the brakes as high-speed forces the brakes to dissipate more energy.

Stopping at a lower speed helps the brakes to produce less kinetic energy and less damage is done due to the produced heat.

Running down the gears and gradually stopping will help maintain your brakes and also control the stopping distance.

Get rid of the additional weights in the car as they add extra pressure to the brakes.

Some common things that add a lot of weight to the car are the aftermarket parts such as tires, wheels, and battery.

Removing the unwanted items not only lightens the car, but also improves the lifetime of the brakes.

The most effective way of maintaining the brakes is efficiently using them while driving on the road.

Look far enough ahead on the road to notice the traffic and control your speed in a manner to use less of the brakes.

Always keep some distance from the vehicle ahead in order to avoid hard braking.

At one point, the brakes wear out completely and the car comes up with the following signs indicating the need for new brakes.

When the brake is applied there is a high pitched squeal noise due to the rubbing of the brake pads with the rotors.

The steering wheel starts to wiggle when you press the brake pedal and this mostly happens due to a deformed rotor.

And the most common sign is you have to push the brake pedal farther to stop the car than you used to.

There are several benefits of regular maintenance of the brakes such as-

Changing the brake pads on time saves wear on the rotors and you have to spend less money down the line.

Regular maintenance also prevents potential fatal accidents and ultimately keeps you and your car safe on the road.
