VDI – HYMAN HALL IMPLEMENTATION (1) Benefits Improved Student experience. VDI improves performance. Extended Student Services. Applications available outside of the classroom. Improved maintenance and uptime, less staffing requirements, ease of software deployment, standardization of software, and availability of virtual applications. Extends the life cycle of usable computer systems.

VDI – HYMAN HALL IMPLEMENTATION (2) Technology Master Plan VDI is part of the 2016-2017 Action Items under the TMP - implement a pilot virtual desktop infrastructure at Hyman Hall. Implementation Fall Semester 2017

NETWORK UPGRADE – CORE SWITCH

NETWORK UPGRADE – CORE SWITCH (1) Benefits Core network support for all TMP objectives. Future support of high network demands such as: expanding wireless connectivity, Voice over IP, Video Surveillance, new emerging connectivity needs. Support for the new academic core buildings. Increased security and monitoring.

NETWORK UPGRADE – CORE SWITCH (2) Technology Master Plan Network equipment upgrade is part of the 2016-2017 Action Items under the TMP – replace end of life network equipment. Implementation Summer 2017
