Attendance – we MAXED out registration Targeted number of attendees was 1,300 to fulfill capacity at the Hershey Lodge Attendance numbers were higher on Day 1 (Thursday) than Day 2 Pre-registration the day before was well-received and effective- please encourage your teams to take advantage of this for the 2017 Forum

PAPBS Recognition 213 School Age/Program Wide Teams were recognized at this year’s recognition luncheon 71 schools/programs were acknowledged for meeting their first year of Fidelity at Tier 1 114 schools/programs were recognized for sustaining their Tier 1 status with Fidelity 22 schools/programs were recognized for their Fidelity of Implementation for Tiers 1 and Tiers 2 6 schools/programs were recognized for Fidelity of Implementation at ALL three tiers OPTIONAL SLIDE… if you don’t want to do the Kahootit no worries

Recognition Highlights Feedback from the survey was excellent All Teams and Participants enjoyed the celebration lunch Especially the dessert Planning to continue the celebration lunch for future Forums Ideas are being considered/recruited to continue to feature Network Teams/Youth for the 2017 Lunch Presentation Specific thoughts and attention are also being given to ensuring ALL recognized teams feel acknowledged during this special session

Planning and Network Next Steps Save the Date and Communicate to Teams- May 16th and 17th, 2017 2017 Session Proposals are Due- October 3, 2016 A Proposal Process is being developed that will be in a Survey Monkey Format. All submitted proposals will be vetted thru a PAPBS Network Scoring Rubric. Opening Keynote for 2017 Brandi Simonsen Titles: Associate Professor, Special Education Co-Director, Center for Behavioral Education and Research Academic Degrees: Ph.D. in Special Education: Exceptional Learner, University of Oregon, 2002 M.S. in Special Education: Exceptional Learner, University of Oregon, 1999 B.A. in Elementary Education and Psychology, William and Mary, 1998 Areas of Expertise: Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Applied Behavior Analysis School-wide Positive Behavior Support Classroom Behavior Behavioral Intervention Assessment – Behavioral Special Education Biography: Dr. Simonsen is an associate professor of Special Education with tenure in the Department of Educational Psychology at the Neag School of Education and the Co-Director of the Center for Behavioral Education and Research (CBER; www.cber.org) at the University of Connecticut. She is the co-coordinator of the Northeast PBIS Network, and she is a partner of the National Technical Assistance Center on Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS; www.pbis.org). Dr. Simonsen is currently the Vice President of the Association for Positive Behavior Support (www.apbs.org).  In addition, Dr. Simonsen serves as an associate editor for two key journals: Journal of Positive Behavioral Interventions and Remedial and Special Education. Currently, Dr. Simonsen conducts research, publishes, teaches, and provides training/technical assistance in the areas of (a) school- and class-wide PBIS, (b) positive and proactive professional development supports for teachers, and (c) applications of PBIS in alternative education settings.  In addition, Dr. Simonsen coordinates UConn’s Graduate Certificate Program in School-wide Positive Behavior Support. Before joining the faculty at University of Connecticut, Dr. Simonsen was the director of a non-public (alternative) school serving students with disabilities who presented with challenging educational and behavioral needs. In addition to serving as an administrator and clinician, Dr. Simonsen has previously been certified as a teacher of elementary general education and middle-secondary special education.
