WASH-NTD Training for Specific Groups 25 Health workers 25 Community health workers 30 Teachers 24 Latrine user group members 1170 Villagers (90 per village) Materials to assist MDA efforts

Initial Results Communities engaged and taking steps to make improvements Local officials engaged National NTD leadership committed to advancing WASH within future NTD efforts Community has cleaned up their water point and created a perimeter around which people cannot walk. On the slab people must leave their shoes off. The PDS delegates feel invested in this activity. They requested their own set of counseling cards. They are linking with the health district workers. In addition, the officals in the two health districts committed to coordinating efforts so similar activities do not take place in the same villages and to assist in covering all villages, not just those chosen by project. Dr. Drabo, the head of the NTD unit has indicated that the World Bank is giving a grant for NTDs that will include communication and behavior change efforts. He is starting his advocacy now to make sure a significant WASH component will be designed into the activities.

Initial Results (2) USAID CAs and other NGO partners seeking ways to support WASHplus initial efforts. USAID/Burkina interested in project and will use ideas to develop new REGIS activity FHI 360 developing a case study to share with NNN WASH working group at the September 2016 meeting

Future Needs Limited support to continue follow-up activities for an additional 6-12 months Funding for an endline activity to provide more rigorous results (WASHPaLS?) USAID participation in NNN WASH-NTD working group Assistance to USAID/Burkina to include WASH in new RFA
