Challenges Pakistan-Bottlenecks Key bottlenecks -Low prioritization of sanitation and water in development budgets compared to other social sectors especially in rural areas - Challenges of coordination in sector monitoring and reporting due to complex institutional arrangements - Absence of dedicated sanitation budget line in the financial reporting - Absence of mutual accountability among the stakeholders including international partners for commitments Tools used: GLAAS 2013, WASH BAT 2013, Service Delivery Assessment 2013, Country Sanitation Paper 2013, Consultation with stakeholders involved in WASH

Key achievement areas - Indicators for monitoring framework agreed and MIS in development - Sector capacity assessments have been initiated Areas of slow achievement - Enhanced sectoral allocation in PRSP - Mobilization of external resource (Due to energy crisis, security and donor priorities) Carry-over to 2014 - Provinces to develop master sector developments plans - Integrate research and advocacy into national monitoring framework
