Native American Duckster Scavenger Hunt Ms. Ross 7th grade Click on the arrows to move between slides:

What do you need to do? This is a scavenger hunt! We are going to use a website to help us answer questions about the Native Americans and their lives before the explorers took over. You need: Your brains The Worksheet Some simple computer knowledge A desire to learn!

Are you ready? We are going to be using the Ducksters website to help us hunt down some information. It has fantastic information about different aspects of the Native Americans’ culture!

Are you ready? When you click on the duck picture above, you will be brought to a Timeline. When you scroll all the way to the bottom of the page you will see a section that says: For more Native American History. Each clue page has a clue that will guide you to one of those sections for your answers. Write the answers to your questions on loose leaf paper to be collected. Happy Hunting!

Clue 1: You live in a house. Your family made it a home. If you were a Native American, would your house be made of stone? Don’t Dwell on it, you’ll figure it out.

Questions from Clue 1: What section of the website did the clue bring you to? What is a nomad? Why did the nomads live in teepees? Which tribe was known for building wigwams? Why were wigwams so small? Describe what adobe is or how it is made. What direction did the door of the Hogan face? What is a waddle and daub? What is a chickee?

Clue 2: When Native Americans were cold, no animal was safe. Native Americans needed skin and bones to make a bit more than just a cape.
