8 Northeast North America Lived in longhouses- wooden poles covered with sheets of bark; housed dozens of families Hunted deer, bear, caribou, rabbits, beaver Men were warriors of the community Women owned the dwellings- planted and harvested crops, cooked, made baskets and took care of children Planted corn, beans, and squash. (called the “three sisters” crops) Often fought wars among themselves. This led to their downfall.
