Systems in Place At Bellview, every student is assessed in the areas of reading, writing, math and behavior three times per year We use this data to plan for teaching and support Students who receive extra support will be assessed more frequently to be sure our strategies are working

More Systems Bellview uses a Positive Behavior and Intervention Support (PBIS) program to support successful behaviors at school We use a referral system that allows us to track both student and adult behavior and teach students how to do the right thing Positive reinforcement for positive behavior is used as often: Bobcat Tickets, Life Skills awards, attendance awards, lunch drawings

The Importance of Attendance Regular attendance is crucial to a child’s success in school. “Adequate” attendance is considered to be 92% or more, meaning a student should not miss more than 9 days in a year. Chronically Absent students (missing 10% or more of school) in Kinder and 1st grade have a 17% chance of meeting reading expectations by 3rd grade By 9th grade regular attendance is a better predictor of graduation rates than 8th grade test scores Habits formed in elementary school carry over into higher levels of education and the work force
