Johnson County Career and Technical Education Center Labor and Education Alignment Program Work Ethic Diploma Standards (Students must earn a minimum of 20 points to receive a Work Ethic Diploma.)

Attendance Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = No more than five absences 2 pts = No more than 3 absences 3 pts = No more than one absence

Absence Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = No more than one unexcused absence 2 pts = No unexcused absences

Tardiness Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = No more than two unexcused tardies 2 pts = No more than one unexcused tardy

Discipline Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = No more than one discipline referral 2 pts = No discipline referrals

Overall Grade Point Average Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = Overall GPA of 2.0 to 2.9 2 pts = Overall GPA of 3.0 to 3.4 3 pts = Overall GPA of 3.5 or above

Drug Free Standard During the senior year, 5 pts = Voluntarily presents written proof as being drug free (Drug Test)

CTE Coursework Standard By the end of the senior year, 1 pt = successfully completed at least one CTE course 2 pts = successfully completed two CTE courses 3 pts = successfully completed three or more CTE courses

CTE Competition Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = Competed in an approved regional level CTE competition 2 pts = Competed in an approved state level 3 pts = competed in an approved national level

Tennessee Promise Standard 2 pts = In good standing with the TN Promise and has completed the required 8 hours of community service

Dual Enrollment/Credit Standard 2 pts = Successfully completed a dual enrollment or dual credit CTE course at Northeast State, TCAT Elizabethton or Virginia Highlands

Industry Certification Standard 2 pts = Received a national industry certification during or before the senior year (i.e. Snap-on Meeting Cerification, NCCER Certificate, etc.)

Enrollment in Post-Secondary Standard 2 pts = Registered or has applied at a post-secondary institution for the fall of the graduating year

Career Readiness Certificate Standard 2 pts = Achieved a Bronze Level Career Readiness Certificate 4 pts = Achieved a Silver Level Career Readiness Certificate 6 pts = Achieved a Gold or Platinum Level Career Readiness Certificate

Industry Awareness Standard During the senior year, 1 pt = Participated in at least one industry awareness event 2 pts = Participated in at least more than one industry awareness event 3 pts = Participated in an internship or work based learning activity
