3. The A-F Report Card Is comprised of three (3) main sections each worth one-third of the overall grade: –Student Achievement - counts 33% –Student Growth - counts 34% 17% - Overall student growth (math & reading) 17% - Bottom 25% student growth –Whole School Performance - counts 33%

4. Graduation Rate (1) Graduation Rate –Counts 79% of 33% (or 26% of total) –2011-2012 counted 82% because #7 information was not yet available CALCULATION: # of students who graduated in 4 years or less ÷ Total # of graduates in current year + # of GED’s in current year + 12 th grade dropouts in current year + 11 th grade dropouts last year + 10 th grade dropouts for 2 years ago + 9 th grade dropouts for 3 years ago 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D Below 60% = F

5. Participation in Advanced Coursework (2) Participation in advanced coursework (i.e. AP, IB, AICE, concurrent college enrollment, industry certification courses and Cooperative Alliance courses) –Student must earn a passing grade to count for participation (A, B, C, or D) –Tech Centers & CTE HS instructors will provide data to high schools –Can be taken at high school, technology center or regional site of OSSM –Counts 3% of 33% (or 1% of total) –Grades 9-12

6. Participation in Advanced Coursework CALCULATION: # accelerated coursework participants in grades 9-12 ÷ # of all students enrolled in grades 11-12 on the Accreditation Report 75-100% = A 65-74% = B 50-64% = C 30-49% = D Below 30% = F

7. Participation points are calculated at the STUDENT LEVEL No matter how many advanced courses students are taking, they ONLY COUNT ONCE per year. (example: industry certification course and AP course taken by the student in the same year)

8. Performance on AP or IB exams (3) Performance on AP or IB exams –AP - score 3 or higher –IB - score 4 or higher –Counts 3% of 33% (or 1% of total) CALCULATION: # test takers passing the exam ÷ # of test takers 75-100% = A 65-74% = B 50-64% = C 30-49% = D Below 30% = F Schools with students enrolled in AP or IB courses that do not attempt the exam will be given an “F” (Clarification from SDE: If the entire class does not attempt, then the school will be given an “F”)

9. Performance in advanced courses (4 ) Performance in concurrent enrollment, AICE, industry certification course and Cooperative Alliance course –Course must be a credit bearing course, not a remedial course –Student must earn credit in the course, earning a "C" or higher grade –Industry certification course: Student must pass certification exam (In 2011-2012, a “C” or higher counted) –Industry Certification Exam: Tech Centers & CTE HS programs will provide data on which students pass exams to ODCTE on Follow-up Report. ODCTE will provide this data to SDE. (This process is still being discussed with the SDE.) –Counts 3% of 33% (or 1% of total)

10. Performance in Advanced Courses CALCULATION: # of students enrolled who meet criteria ÷ # of all students who took an accelerated course or subject area examination during the academic year 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D Below 60% = F

11. College Entrance Exam Participation (5) College entrance exam participation (ACT or SAT) –Can be taken any time in student's career –If ACT is taken multiple times it only counts once in student's career - If SAT is taken multiple times it only counts once in student's career –A student can be counted once for ACT and once for SAT –Counts 3% of 33% (or 1% of total) CALCULATION: # 12 th graders ever taking an exam ÷ # 12 th graders on the Accreditation Report 75-100% = A 65-74% = B 50-64% = C 30-49% = D Below 30% = F

12. College Entrance Exam Performance (6) College entrance exam performance –ACT = 20 or higher –SAT = 1410 or higher –National Test dates only - no residual tests –Most recent test score taken on ACT or SAT - data provided to SDE from ACT and College Board –If ACT is taken multiple times it only counts once in student's career - If SAT is taken multiple times it only counts once in student's career –A student can be counted once for ACT and once for SAT –Counts 3% of 33% (or 1% of total)

13. College Entrance Exam Performance CALCULATION: # 12 th graders scoring 20 or higher on ACT or 1410 or higher on SAT ÷ # 12 th graders who took the ACT and SAT 75-100% = A 65-74% = B 50-64% = C 30-49% = D Below 30% = F The 12 th graders are tracked as a cohort. If a student takes the exam once as a 9 th grader, the exam will count on the report card when the student is a 12 th grader

14. PERFORMANCE - a student can earn more than one point if taken in different categories (the examples below count 2 points): Passing an industry certification test and scoring 20 or higher on an ACT; Scoring 20 or higher on ACT and 1410 or higher on SAT; Scoring a 3 or higher on an AP course and passing an industry certification test (“C” or higher)

15. HS Graduation Rate of Low Achieving 8 th Graders (7) High school graduation rate of low achieving eighth grade students –School from which they graduate gets to count them even if they move around after 8 th grade –Low achieving students are those scoring limited knowledge or unsatisfactory on the 8 th grade reading or math OSTP assessments –Counts 3% of 33% (when data becomes available) 85-100% = A 75-84% = B 65-74% = C 55-64% = D Below 55% = F

16. Low Achieving 8 th Graders CALCULATION: # 12 th graders who earned a regular HS diploma by the end of the 2011-12 school year who scored Unsatisfactory or Limited Knowledge on the 8 th grade Reading or Math State Assessment ÷ # low-performing first-time 9 th graders in fall 2008 + low-performing students who transfer in - (minus) low performing students who transfer out, emigrate, or die during school years 2008-09, 2009-2010, 2010-2011, and 2011-2012

17. Five or more year graduation rate (8) Five or more year graduation rate –Includes all graduates even if takes more than 4 years to graduate –Counts 3% of 33% 90-100% = A 80-89% = B 70-79% = C 60-69% = D Below 60% = F

18. Five or more year graduation rate CALCULATION: Total # of students who graduated in current year ÷ Total # of graduates in current year + # GED’s in current year + # 12 th grade dropouts in current year + # 11 th grade dropouts last year + #10 th grade dropouts from 2 years ago + # 9 th grade dropouts from 3 years ago

19. Industry Certification Exams List of eligible exams/certifications to count for A-F Report Card and to be recorded on high school transcripts www.okcttc.com or www.okcareertech.org/cac

20. For additional exams to be added to the approved list Approval process is in place for exams to be added to this list –Field will work with State Program Administrators for approval requests –The deadline for the current school year will be April 1 st to be counted for that year on the A-F Report Card –Certification Approval Committee will meet quarterly to approve additions to this list

21. BONUS - High School Whole School Performance – Bonus items are worth.06 in the grade calculation 1)Climate survey results – administered online Completed by 90% of faculty Completed by 20% of students Completed by 10% of parents Must have an average rating of 4 on a 5 pt. scale 2)Parent/Community Engagement - # of volunteer hours performed during the school year by parents or community members Schools receiving at least 1 volunteer hour for each student enrolled as found in the Accreditation Report will receive points

22. Bonus (continued) 3)Percent of students following the C3 (College, Career & Citizen Ready) curriculum CALCULATION: # students in grades 9-12 enrolled in college preparatory coursework ÷ Total # of students in grades 9-12 If 90% or more are taking C3 Curriculum, the school will receive bonus points

Bonus (continued) 4)Percent of graduates who need remediation in college (go to Oklahoma college or university right after HS) CALCULATION: Unduplicated # of students needing remediation in reading, English, math or science ÷ Total # of students attending an Oklahoma college or university Schools with 25% or less graduates enrolled in college remedial classes will receive the bonus points
