2 READY Annual Report Contents
Components of the READY Accountability Model NHCS v Other Districts and the State NHCS v Surrounding Charters Proficiency: Detail for Grades 3-8 and High School School Performance Grades Growth Career and College Readiness Measures Individual School Profiles

3 READY Model Components: Elementary and Middle
End-of-Grade assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) in grades 3-8 End-of-Grade assessments in Mathematics in grades 3-8 End-of-Grade Science assessments in grades 5 and 8 End-of-Course assessments in middle school

4 READY Model Components: High School
End-of-Course Assessments in English II, Biology and Math I Graduation Rate: The percentage of students who graduate in four years or less. The ACT: The percentage of students meeting the UNC system admissions requirement of a composite score of 17. Math Course Rigor: The percentage of graduates taking and passing high-level math courses such as Math III. WorkKeys – For Career and Technical Education concentrators (students who have earned four CTE credits in a career cluster), the percentage of concentrator graduates who were awarded at least a Silver Level Career Readiness Certificate based on WorkKeys assessments. Graduation Project – The accountability report will note whether a school requires students to complete a graduation project.

5 Accountability Measures
Performance: The percentage of students who score at Achievement Levels I-V. Achievement Levels III-V are considered Proficient. Achievement Level III is considered Grade-level Proficient. Achievement Levels IV and V are considered Career and College Ready. Performance Composite: The percentage of the test scores in the school at or above expected achievement level (Level III) Growth: An indication of the rate at which students in the school learned over the past year. The standard is roughly equivalent to a year’s worth of growth for a year of instruction. Growth is reported for each school as Exceeded Growth Expectations; Met Growth Expectations; or Did Not Meet Growth Expectations.

19 Growth Percent of Schools Meeting or Exceeding Expectations
Exceeds Met School growth is calculated using all end-of-grade and end-of-course test scores by an Educator Value-Added Assessment System (SAS). The system looks at where a child was on the previous year’s test and compares that result to the current test. They determine where they fall in the range of all the children across the state. It is then calculated on a normal curve. If a student maintains their position, even if it is below the state average, then the student has met growth. Not Met

20 2014-2015 Career and College Readiness Indicators
With an emphasis on Career and College Readiness, the READY model includes five additional indicators at the high school level. Graduation Rate: The percent of students graduating in four years or less ACT Performance: The percentage of high school juniors achieving a composite score of 17, which is the requirement for admission into Colleges in the UNC System ACT WorkKeys Performance: The percentage of high school graduates who are Career and Technical Education (CTE) concentrators and are awarded a Silver, Gold or Platinum level Readiness Certificate based on the WorkKeys assessment results High School Math Course Rigor: The percentage of graduates who successfully complete Math III
