Science Laboratory and Safety Equipment

Beaker performs chemical tests and reactions heat liquids

Beaker Tongs pick up and move hot beakers

Erlenmeyer Flask perform reactions filtering into store liquids

Test Tube perform small reactions heat small amounts of liquids or solids

Test Tube Holder hold and move hot test tubes used when heating a test tube for a short period of time

Test Tube Rack Holds test tubes

Test Tube Brush clean test tubes or other glassware

Ring (Retort) Stand to mount (or hold) other laboratory equipment

Ring Clamp attaches to a retort stand to support wire gauze or a clay triangle when heating a beaker or other lab equipment

Wire Gauze supports a beaker while heating

Bunsen Burner Heat source in the lab

Bunsen Burner Lighter To light a Bunsen burner

Hot Plate Heat source in the lab

Graduated Cylinder measures liquids accurately

Dropper Pipet ( or Medicine Dropper) (or Eye Dropper) delivers small amounts of liquid

Dropper Bottle Store small amount of liquids

Funnel Pour liquids into containers without spilling

Scoopula delivers and transfers small amounts of granulated (powdered) solids

Stirring Rod stirs liquid solutions

Thermometer measures temperature

Gas Collecting Bottle collects and stores gas

Rubber Stoppers stops/caps Erlenmeyer flasks or test tubes, or other containers

Plastic Wash Bottle delivers distilled water washes precipitates (small solids found in liquid solutions)

Centigram (Electronic) Balance measures the mass of solids at room temperature

Safety Goggles protects eyes from heat, chemicals and other hazards must be worn at all times when completing a lab experiment
