Mrs. Wrenn’s News Week of October 31-Nov. 4 What We’re Learning: Reading/Writing In our nonfiction unit we are continuing to use text features to preview the text and figure out the big idea. We have chosen a story to publish in Writers’ Workshop and are revising and editing this week to make it the best it can be! Please let me know if you can’t find a time No School November 7th and 8th: Teacher Inservice Math We are learning more strategies for adding 2 digit numbers including breaking numbers apart and using compensation. These strategies make mental math easier. Give your child a 2 digit addition problem and see if he or she can do it mentally! Science/Social Studies Community Day is almost here! This week we will be rehearsing our show during Social Studies time. There are many details that need fine-tuning.
