COMMUNICATION CHALENGES WITHIN CONSERVANCIES Low literacy levels within conservancies leading to language barrier Information unavailable and inaccessible within conservancy structures Frequent internal institutional changes impact negatively on progress and networking Lack of communication capacity building and poor knowledge management within conservancies High population and long distance impact negatively on the implementation of programmes and information flow Poor consultation, organisation and participation at the information platforms by conservancy structures and members

Con’t Solutions Improve the capacity of conservancies in communication as to effectively manage and transfer of knowledge and the affairs of the conservancies To improve communication through representative committees To improve consultation and organisation of meetings and improve member participation in decision-making.

Proposed Solutions Development of simple understandable and translated conservancy materials (usage of local languages / audio visual tools) Information available and accessible to everyone (Information should be relevant timely and easy to read) Develop mechanism that can address networking within stakeholders

WAY FORWARD Regions identified solutions according to challenges within their regions Radio communication was identified as a critical tool for communication Meetings was encouraged to disseminate appropriate or relevant information

THANK YOU
