Graduation Program Requirements Required Courses SUBJECT AREA Minimum Credits English 10 4 Language Arts 11 Language Arts 12 Social Studies 10 Social Studies 11 or BC First Nations Studies 12 or Civics 11 Science 10 Science 11 or 12 Mathematics 10 Mathematics 11 or 12 Physical Education 10 Planning 10 A Fine Arts and/or Applied Skills 10, 11 or 12 Total 48 ELECTIVE COURSES Students must earn at least 28 elective credits for Grade 10-12 courses 28 Graduation Transitions Students must earn 4 credits by completing GT Overall Total 80 Of the 80 credits for graduation, at least 16 must be at the Grade 12 level, including a Grade 12 Language Arts course. Others may be required or elective courses
Graduation Credits External Credits Distributed Learning Musical Instruments, Driver’s Education, Dance, Sports Distributed Learning Courses taken outside of STA (i.e. online, summer school) Language Challenge Exam Students who have studied in Canada since grade 9 and have a first language other than English Exams are written through the Delta School District

Ministry of Education: Graduation Program Examinations Scholarship 8000 - $1250 scholarships available Criteria: Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent BC Resident Final mark of B (73% or higher) English 12/Communications 12 Fulfill graduation requirements of the 2004 graduation program.
Ministry of Education: The Provincial Scholarships Program District/ Authority Scholarships There are 5500 District/Authority Scholarships distributed across school districts and independent school authorities that recognize graduating BC students for excellence in their chosen area of interest or strength. Winners receive a $1250 scholarship voucher to use towards their post-secondary tuition.
