3 Gr. 9 – Elective Courses Grade 9 students can choose 3 electives from the following areas: Modern Languages Fine Arts Applied Skills

French 9 Japanese 9 Some universities have a requirement of a 2nd language to the Grade 11 level

5 Grade 9’s must choose One Fine Art Elective

6 Grade 9’s must choose One Applied Skill Elective

7 GRADE 10 PROGRAM PLANNING Grade 10 is the start of the Graduation Program Grade 10’s start to earn Credits toward Graduation

8 Graduation Requirements
1. Required 48 credits: • Language Arts 10, 11, credits • Social Studies 10 4 credits • Social Studies 11 or First Nations 12 4 credits • Science 10 4 credits • Science 11 or 12 4 credits • Mathematics 10 4 credits • Mathematics 11 4 credits • Physical Education 10 4 credits • Fine Art or Applied Skill 10, 11 or 12 4 credits • Planning 10 4 credits 2. Graduation Transitions 4 credits 3. Grade 12 Electives 12 credits 4. Other Electives (Grade 10, 11 and 12) 28 credits TOTAL 80 credits Dawn

10 Math Pathways (all options meet grad requirements)
K - 9 Apprenticeship & Workplace Math 10 Foundations of Math & Pre-Calculus 10 Grade 10 Apprenticeship & Workplace Math 11 Foundations of Math 11 Pre-Calculus 11 Grade 11 Math 12 is NOT required to graduate, but may be for admission to some post-secondary programs. 17 English Language Learners (ELL)

18 Academic Full Credit Summer School
An Option for Grades 10, 11 & 12 courses 6 weeks in the summer 3 hours/course/day (morning or afternoon) Can take 1 or 2 classes 10 month course taught in 6 weeks Large amount of homework each day!

19 Program Planning Form Indicate Summer School plans
Complete Application Form if required for a specific course Must have the required prerequisites Handed by Feb. 3:00 pm to counselling centre Dawn

March Office Staff enter Grade 9’s Course Selections into computer Grade 10’s enter Course selections into computer April Course Confirmation given to students June – Final confirmation of requested courses Grade 8 classroom visits were the first week of February Planning sheets must be complete for submission 8 classes 5 alternates Signatures
