5 Graduation Program Requirements
Required Courses SUBJECT AREA Minimum Credits English 10 4 Language Arts 11 Language Arts 12 Social Studies 10 Social Studies 11 or BC First Nations Studies 12 or Civics 11 Science 10 Science 11 or 12 Mathematics 10 Mathematics 11 or 12 Physical Education 10 Planning 10 A Fine Arts and/or Applied Skills 10, 11 or 12 Total 48 ELECTIVE COURSES Students must earn at least 28 elective credits for Grade courses 28 Graduation Transitions Students must earn 4 credits by completing GT Overall Total 80 Of the 80 credits for graduation, at least 16 must be at the Grade 12 level, including a Grade 12 Language Arts course. Others may be required or elective courses

Music Certificates, Driver’s Education, Dance, Sports Distributed Learning Courses taken outside of STA (i.e. online, summer school) Language Challenge Exam Students who have studied in Canada since grade 9 and have a first language other than English Exams are written through the Delta School District

Components Students will be working on their GT portfolio throughout the year during HACE weeks Resume, Goal Setting, Financial Plans, etc… 2. Presentation of GT Portfolios to STA Staff Members - Presentations occur in April 7

17 Transcripts Most Post Secondary Institutes in BC do not require a transcript be sent by schools anymore. Students must make sure they fill out the PSI Selection Form on the website by Jan. 31. The link to the PSI selection is on the STA site under Academic Counselling

18 Reference Letters Give reference 1-2 weeks (be fair)
Give copy of the criteria to referee as well as a copy of the Biographical Resume All About Me Forms Be selective - choose a person who can speak to your gifts and talents

19 Academic Advisors Provide academic advising, post secondary exploration and course selection Available to work with students and parents one-on-one for academic planning and support Available by appointment or me at: 19
