What Is the Rosemont Shared Print Alliance? Regional journal storage programs working together where goals and interests align An effort to be strategic in efforts above the consortial level about print management An incentive to commit journals to formal retention In 2014 WEST program assessment, library directors identified “building partnerships and coordinating with other print archives and organizations” as highest priority among possible new activities to pursue. 88% Possible areas: policies, technologies, collections milestones, scope of services (retention, digitization, deduplication), governance, investment? Areas for collaboration: growth milestones, policies, technologies Nature of collaboration: cross-regional collaboration, leverage existing trust networks, support distributed archiving, federation-like a climate accord for collection growth and # copies, concensus-based decisions, connecting executive and operations committees in a collective governance structure 3-4 in person meetings in 2015-2016 Rosemont, IL, Boston, MA, Charleston, SC
