Liaison librarians now have an expectation of integrating scholarly communications into their work, which has been written into all liaison job descriptions. Distributed workload and collaboration help move the program forward. For example, the Scholarly Communications Advisory Committee provides feedback on IR policies, content management, metadata, etc.

5. Support for Liaisons Infrastructure Environmental scan Retreat

Workshops
Facilitating faculty meetings, support, more information, answer questions, relieving liaisons from having to have all the answers immediately. A significant part of my job is to support the work of liaison librarians by creating opportunities for increasing expertise, collaboratively working with academic departments, responding to questions/concerns, providing resources and tools on topics such as copyright, author rights, open access publishing, etc.

Collaborate with Head of Instruction
Continue to develop campus partnerships
Develop and implement assessment plan
Starting to identify areas where the community needs our assistance (responding to institutional needs as opposed to designing services based on our assumptions). There is growing interest in data management, preservation and dissemination plans/services. Will collaborate with metadata librarian to expand services in this area.
