DOM integration meeting November 10 2016 Daan van Eijk

news Daniele will officially take over DOM integration coordination due to my departure to the US. Starting date: 1 February 2017. Congratulations and good luck!!!

actions from previous meeting Daniele: Status of retuned HV on 6 PMTs in DOM67 Send instructions of how to obtain the advertised white gas (to Emanuele in particular!) Send pictures of optional markings on glass and bottom support structure when gluing the piezo Emanuele: Send data sheet to DvE for the ‘nafta’ that was bought as ‘white gas’ Oleg: Perform (yet another) gel hardening test on the material of the tube itself Daan: PMT O-rings batch 4.6 is useable, but not ideal. Edward will order new batch Question: how are you doing with leakages when using batch 4.6?

Other issues PMTs will not be calibrated anymore In acceptance test, use latest version of the Get_PMT_HV_settings script http://svn.km3net.de/integration/PMT_HV_PROMiS_script/Get_PMT_HV_settings.py This will get the uncalibrated HV values Also, the testing sheets have changed accordingly, now version 8: KM3NeT_QA_2016_216-DCR_DOM_Test_Sheets_v1 Removal of grounding cables: How are you doing? Pictures? Still waiting for lists with numbers from everyone but Emanuele Don’t forget to remove the ‘Grounding cable’ column in the assembly tables of the local integration database (let me know if I can help) New fiber tray routing procedure (KM3NeT_INT_2014_007_DOM_Fibre_Tray_Routing_Procedure_v4) KM3NeT_QA_2016_225-DCR_DOM_Fiber_Routing_Procedure_v1 Did you know… there are two types of A/D filters? And that the fiber routing procedures handles both? KOAD-100-AS-CH59C-900L-52 and KOAD-S-100-AS-CH59C-900L-52 And if I say ‘duplex clips’, what do you think?

Other issues (2) Put kapton on the power board connector: NCR 2016_223 Now also in DOM integration procedure! Edward has developed a collar bending tool, see KM3NeT_INT_2015_010- DOM_Integration_Tools_v2 Please pay attention to the orientation of the reflector rings: Opening in reflector ring should always point to DOM poles: top structure: up, bottom structure: down Adapted integration procedure to make this more clear See pictures below for ‘good’ and ‘bad’

Other issues (3) New DOM integration software, now version 1.8 DCR KM3NeT_QA_2016_215-DCR_DOM_Integration_Software_v1 Removed grounding cable + some fixes Shipments to four integration sites -> all arrived I might have mixed up one or two small bags between Athens and Erlangen, will sort this out with Oleg and Giorgos Question from Giorgos: How many DOMs have been built without ESD protection in Catania and Erlangen?

DOM production Planning and status realized planned I’d like to understand how far we think we can get by the end of 2016. Let’s discuss after presentations by sites. Current DOM count: 52 + 18 + 18 + 2 = 90 Total current DOM count: 19 (2014) + 46 (2015) + 90 (2016) = 155

Rest of meeting: review

Communication The question now is: how do we make sure that We have all read all documentation We have all read all DCR’s We communicate all changes to the technicians doing the work Recommendation (maybe this should be obligatory?): Integrate one DOM side-by-side with technicians, following procedures literally
