Weekly Objectives Homework Spelling Words Week of Sept 18, 2017 First Nine Wks Issue # 1 Mrs. Castellano's Class Weekly Objectives Homework Language Arts – Fiction & Non fiction, characters, setting, plot, Problem and solution, Parts of a book-glossary, table of contents, past tense endings, declarative and interrogative sentences, prepositions, plural nouns, author’s purpose. Math – Add/subtraction with regrouping. Science – Matter: bend, flex, fold, cut Social Studies – Historical Figures. As part of your 20 minutes reading time, please use istation; storyline online; bookflix: bkflix.Grolier.com-UN: jdrugan. PW: bookflix Monday– Read your fluency folder pages: 14, 15 (time for one minute); Write spelling words three times each. Math: p.Week 8. Bring homework to school everyday. Tuesday– Read your fluency folder Pages: 14, 15 (time for one minute). Math: p.Week 8. Write spelling words in ABC order. Wednesday- Read your fluency folder Pages: 14,15 (time for one minute); Math: p.Week 8 Write a sentence for all spelling words. Thursday- Read your fluency folder Pages: 14,15 (time for one minute); Math: p.Week 8. Ask parents to give you a practice spelling test. Practice the ones you missed. Write a sentence for all your vocabulary word Friday-Tests on story of the week, spelling words, vocabulary words . I will send the tests on Friday. Please sign and return them. If you don’t get them, please write me a note in the agenda. Spelling Words Pattern: Long e: (ee, ea, ei,e_e) Beach, feel, field, yield, tea, see, these, sleep, meal, tree. Vocabulary Words Story: Dona Flor 1.Respected: to be liked and admired by others. 2.Rattled: to make sharp, short noises. 3.tangled: something that is twisted and mixed up together. 4.Commotion: lots of noisy sounds. 5. Shivering: to shake or tremble because you are scared, frightened, or cold. 6. Advice: to give an idea or suggestion to someone. Class will now start at 7:45am. If your child needs to eat breakfast, please send to school by 7:35am so that he/she will have enough time to enjoy their meal and is ready to learn at 7:45am. Conference time: 12:55-1:20 M,T,Th,F. No calls will be transferred or accepted at any other time. Please write a note in the agenda so that I can call you back. During this time I am also at meetings, trainings, and preparing myself for my lessons. Calls will be returned as soon as possible. Thank you. Box tops and Price’s caps: Please continue sending  Homework Lab If your child struggles at home with behavior or homework, please send a note giving permission for students to use the HOMEWORK LAB here at school AFTERSCHOOL in the Science Lab from 3:30 to 5pm. It is free! Please help check your child’s homework every day. I no longer have the extra time in the mornings since Superschool starts right at 7:45am. Thank you for all your help. Istation: Every student received a letter about istation (in a sheet protector in agenda) and how to use it at home along with their passwords and progress on istation. Please have your children use it for support. It really works!
