Our Fall Festival is scheduled for Friday, October 27th from 1:30-4:30pm. We are asking families to donate candy for our Festival. We have a box in the classroom where you can drop it off.

Language Arts
We are in Week 2 of Unit 2 in Benchmark. We are learning about the story elements of fictional stories.
Phonics: Short vowel sounds /u/. Students should be reading at 25 words per minute. I am sending home fluency practice sheets to practice reading fluently.
Comprehension: We are learning to answer comprehension questions and proving their response with evidence. Parents can help by reading stories to their child and asking them questions. The quesitons you can ask can be found in the Back to School folder.
Math
We have our Chapter 2 Subtraction test on Thursday. We begin Chapter 3 on Friday.
Science
Investigation 2 : Liquids. We are learning about the properties of liquids. These are viscous, transparent, translucent, color, foamy, and bubbly. Continue to review the properties of solids: flexible, pointy, flat, smooth, hard, soft, rigid, and rough.
Social Studies: Homes and Technology
Our Social Studies Unit is on Life Long Ago and Today.
Depth and Complexity: Gifted and Talented
The prompts we are learning are details, patterns, Big Idea, Multiple Perspective.
Listening and Speaking
