Attendance & Fellowship “Adyyn” District Training Assembly 2017 - 18 Attendance & Fellowship Host Club: Rotary Club of Mumbai West

RESPOSIBILITY Attendance is one of the most important requirement and responsibility of club membership. Since participation in meeting enhance the members knowledge of community and develop friendship amongst a group of person and dedicated to service through there vocation. PURPOSE : - To foster the fellowship amongst the members It is opportunity to make new friends and keep in touch with established friends To keep in touch with latest information & current events of your club, district & RI To make club healthy & vibrant with exchange of more ideas More Hands to work and More Brains to Think is key of success.

Why the poor Attendance ? Members not aware of attendance rules. Lack of orientation programme in the club. Wrongly identified member Inconvenient Meeting day/ time or venue. Lack of communication by President, Secretary and Office Bearers with members Not forming attendance committee Less involvement & Motivation of PP and Senior Members Lack of good fellowship and monotonous agenda of meeting. No appreciation of members those are regular in meeting and projects.

How to improve Attendance ? Making members aware of attendance rules. Arrange a good orientation programme every year. Making meeting interesting with good speaker &fellowship. Communicating club program well in advance. Formation of attendance committee & recognition to regular members in meeting and projects. Analysing why member fail to attend meetings Personal communication with members on special occasions like birthdays, anniversary etc. Inviting own member as speaker on his classification Rotating responsibilities amongst Rotarians in welcoming the guest. Arranging solo picnic in beginning of the year. Taking care of new members Involving members in district programs.

Rules for Attendance As explained in the standard rotary club constitution. Each member must meet to following conditions to satisfied the attendance requirement. Attend or make up at least 60% of regular Rotary Club meeting in each half of the year. Attend at least 30% of their club’s regular meeting in each half of the year. A Member may not miss or fail to make up four consecutive meetings.

Making Up for Attendance If you can not attend club meeting there are many ways to receive attendance credit. According to article 8 section 1 of clubs constitution. 14 days before or after the regular missed meeting, the member can attend: Attends at least 30% of the regular meeting of another club. Attends a regular meeting of a Rotaract or Interact Club, Rotary Community corps or Rotary Fellowship Attends a convention of RI or District Conference, District Training Assembly, any District Committee meeting or any District event. Participating in club projects and events.

Fellowship Friendship and Fellowship is a interaction and participation which create personal bonding among members and family on club, district and RI Level. It Keeps member involved in club activities and projects. Schedule social and networking activities including celebration and picnics. Appoint a different member each week to greet and introduce new members, visitors, and speakers. Foster relationship with other rotary clubs in the district, in the region, and around the world. Include spouses and families in club fellowship and service activities. Wear name badges at meetings to make introductions easier. Rotate seating arrangements to ensure that members get to know one another.

The Rotary Family Involving family in rotary activities is also a fellowship. The Family of Rotary includes Rotaract, Interact, Rotary Alumni, Youth Exchange students, Inner Wheel, and family members of Rotarians and members of Rotary’s extended family Remember birthdays and anniversaries. Assist when they are sick, or having personal issues. Share their grief after a death in the family. Celebrate births, weddings, and graduations.
