The Book of the Human Skeleton

The Human Bones together form the Skeleton,

The Skeleton gives the shape to our body, and protects the organs inside

Male Female

In the Skeleton, bones meet at joints.

Most joints are movable which allows the skeleton to change position

The central core of the skeleton is formed by the skull, backbones and ribs.

This 80 bones support the body and protect its soft organs

The long bones of the arms join this core at the shoulders,

and the leg bones join it at the hips.

The 126 bones of the arms, legs, hips and shoulders play a key role in movement

22 bones form the Skull, which protect the brain

and gives form to our head and face.

Each bone in the Human Body have a proper name,

and each bone in the Spinal Column is called a vertebra

To see the skeleton doctors use X-rays…

…but this is other story.
