Double Stuff Oreos VS Regular Oreos Title: Double Stuff Oreos VS Regular Oreos

Purpose/Problem Statement: The purpose of this experiment is to see if double stuff Oreos are really double stuff.

Hypothesis/Prediction IF double stuff Oreos are truly double stuffed THEN the double stuff Oreo will have twice the amount of “stuff” than a regular Oreo BECAUSE the company say it’s double stuffed.

Identification of Variables: Manipulated: Type of Oreo – double stuff or regular. Responding: The mass of the stuff. Controlled: The balance used. Brand of the cookie

Materials: 1 double stuff Oreo 1 regular stuff Oreo Balance Pencil Lab report sheet calculator

Procedure: Gather materials. Carefully twist off one side of the cookie from both Oreos. Measure the mass of the cookie with no filling on it for both cookies using the balance. Record in data table.

Measure the mass of each cookie with the filling on it using the balance. Record in data table. Calculate the mass of stuff by subtracting the cookie mass from the cookie + stuff mass. Repeat steps 1-5 twice or get results from 3 other groups.

Calculated mass of stuff Data Table Type of cookie Trial/ Group # Mass of cookie Mass of cookie + stuff Calculated mass of stuff Regular 1 g 2 3 4 Double Stuff
