10TH LX Navigation Cup 7th Day 06 May 2017

Runway in use for take off: Today we will use Runways 16/18 for the take off. 16 18 Grid time is 12:45 and first take off is 13:00 !!

Take offs: Please, please, please, do not get into your gliders with wet feet, zero degrees is at 150 msl. We will push the gliders forward, to help the tow planes to get you off the ground. Peter is excellent in this exercise! After the take off, please have someone pick up the boots, the makintoshes, the paddles, well all swimming equipments Important : all cars must not be left stuck in mud on the runway.

Towing: Towing : If the tow planes lift up, they will do their best to put you in a thermal, beforer reaching the cloud base/deck/ceiling whatever !But if you hit one (thermal, not the tow plane !), please release before the 600m altitude, to improve the towing rate.. Relights : you probably will need a relight, or two. Please radio your need in advance on 123.2 the competition frequency, only once not to block the frequency !! And land on any available spot !! Show your expertise by making precise and safe landings

Arrival procedure: In case of the doubtfull eventuality of arrivals, there will be no penalty for low altitude at Ingesor. Remember „ingyensör” and „Zastonj pivo”. the recommendations of Today the marshals (several, dur to intense traffic) will be in the swimming pol or more likely in the spa, but they will have sentries out to check everyone’s behaviour. Low passes are not allowed they would have to be tunnels.

Landings: If you ever leave the immediate proximity of the airfield, remember to dump your water BEFORE you get over the runways, they are wet enough, thank you.

Runway in use for landing: Today we will use Runways 34/36 for the landings. 34 36 Do try to get your glider in front of your trailer to save making furrows. Moles love furrows, they make less work for them

Szeged airport and airspace: You’ll never get as far as that, so forget 122.8, you’ll be too low, and they will never hear you Just say „emergency” and „safety”, it’ll keep them busy ! .

Safety: Please do make sure you are properly strapped in your glider, and that the canopy is closed without any item (watwer bottle, scarf, maps) in the way. At the start of the roll, do not push the stick fully forward, it’s the best way to lose direction control…

Weather: Today, I leave the honnor to do the weather briefing to Peter Szabo. I am tired of receiving death threats on my cell phone, under the door of my room ! See my eyes ? I haven’t slept a minute last night…
