Word Add In Required for all users that use MS Word Templates
Add Developer Tab to MS Word The add in allows you to customize the word templates and add fields from a field list icon. From word go to WORD OPTIONS >> POPULAR >> SHOW DEVELOPER OPTIONS

Template configuration manager Administration >> Reports >> Template Configuration Only enable for options you want to print the template for
PRINTING WORD TEMPLATES Templates will now print any time you print one of the reports

EMAIL CUSTOMER Can email an individual documents by pressing the EMAIL button If email is greyed out go to email button on customer/vendor card and make sure they are marked to receive email
EMAIL BATCH Can print/email all documents in a batch Remember to reprint need to select reprint

Customize your template Click modify then modify your word template in word. Save the template then click the + button to re-import the template
Assign Template Click assign button First need to assign it to company Then can assign to customer
Assign customer Assign by class or individual customer
Original vs Modified System will use ORIGINAL if GP report security is set to original System will use custom if GP report security is set to modified Is possible to have an Original “Modified” Report template (Don’t think about that too hard)
Word TEMPLATES When modifying a template remember to import it back into GP using the Report Template Maintenance GP Stores the template in the SQL database so you don’t need to share out the actual word document (but keep backups) When editing save early and save often Keep backups
TIPS on WORD TEMPLATES IF you need to add an additional field you MUST add the field in Report Writer first. Make sure security is then granted to the modified report. In word templates you then must use the MODIFED Template! Users should be local admins on the workstation Office must be installed! I haven’t had much luck modifying HEADER/FOOTER besides very simple changes
