Our Schedule for p.m. class Mrs. Kaiser’s News 708-233-8090 lkaiser@npd117.net In this room, we don’t do easy we make easy happen through hard work and learning. This past week all the students took the MAP Math assessment on the computer. As soon as we get the results I will send them to you. The school day is moving along nicely. The children are building friendships, learning classroom routines and I think it will only be a matter of time before all the students will be fully adjusted to a full day of school. I would like to encourage your family to become a member of the PTA. The PTA provides many activities and programs for the students at Sorrick. They provide popcorn day, help with classroom parties, provide funds for cultural arts programs, book fair, and playground equipment just to name a few. Learning Focus Math: this week we worked on adding 1 more and 1 less. By knowing one more and one less it helps when adding and subtracting with problems such as 6+1=7and 6-1=5. This would be a great skill to practice when driving in the car or when you have a couple of extra minutes. Give your child a number and ask them to give you 1 more and 1 less. We also worked on ordinal number names and symbols. This is where your child needs to understand first, second, third through tenth and being able to identify 1st, 2nd, 3rd through 10th. We did a lot of role playing matching up 1st and first, 2nd and second and putting the numbers and symbols in sequence. In Science : we completed our unit on sound. Thank Important Dates .
