Welcome to a new school year! This newsletter will be my way of communicating to you what your child is learning in class, and what is happening at school. This is a WEEKLY newsletter. You will be receiving one of these newsletters every Monday.
This week and next, I will be testing students on reading, math, and spelling in order to determine his/her starting level. If you are curious as to how your child did on these tests, please send me an (listed at the top) next week.

CLASSROOM/SCHOOL BEHAVIOR: This week we will go over the school and classroom rules, and practice them daily so that we maintain a safe and kind environment this school year. If you ever have concerns about your child’s well-being at school, please don’t hesitate to drop by after school to discuss, or me.
MATH: We will start Module 1 in our math curriculum. It is a review of adding and subtracting. We will also learn and practice math on an online site that goes along with the math we are learning each week.
ELA/WRITING: Students will draw a self-portrait and write adjectives to describe him/herself. We will also dive into our new English Language Arts (ELA) curriculum and read, discuss, and write about FRIENDSHIP.
EARLY DISMISSAL are from
Aug.15 – Aug. 24th.
EARLY 1:50pm on Tues., Aug. 28th.
NO SCHOOL on Mon. Sept. 3rd (Labor Day holiday).
BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT will be on Thurs., Sept. 13th.
PE (with Ms. Watkins): Monday & Tuesday mornings
ART (with Ms. Meersman): Thursdays
MUSIC (with Ms. Oey): Fridays
