FUN FACTS HE WAS BORN ON 253 HE HAD NO EDUCATION AT ALL HE LIVED POOR BUT VERY HOLY ONE OF IS ACCOMPLISHMENTS IS HE BECAME A SAINT. THE DATE OF DEATH IS UNKNOWN

HOW DID HE USE HIS TALENTS HE GAVE STUFF TO THE POOR EVEN THOUGH HE WAS POOR HE WAS A PROBLEM BEFORE HE CONVERTED TO BECOME A CATHOLIC. AS HE WAS IN JAIL HE PRAYED TO GOD.

OBSTACLES HE FACED DOING GODS WORK HE COULD NOT PERFORM HIS WORKS SO HE WOULD SNEAK IT. HE ENDED UP GETTING COUGHT SO THEY TRIED TO KILL HIM BY SHOOTING HIM WITH ARROWS BUT HE DID NOT DIE.

STORT STORY ON HIS DEATH . According to his legend, he was born in GAUL, went to Rome, and joined the army of the emperor Carinus, later becoming a captain under DIOCLETIAN. When it was discovered that he was a Christian who had converted many soldiers, Sebastian was ordered to be killed by arrows. The archers left him for dead, but a Christian widow nursed him back to health. He then presented himself before Diocletian, who condemned him to death by beating. His body, thrown into a sewer, was found by another pious woman, who dreamed that Sebastian told her to bury his remains near the catacombs. His relics are believed to be in the Basilica of San Sebastiano on the Appian Way.

QUALITIES I ADMIRE He is patron saint of athletes because of his physical endurance and his energetic way of spreading and defending the Faith.

HOW HE BECAME A SAINT WHEN- LOOKS LIKE 310 ish HOW- HE WAS MARTYR AND HE LIVED POOR AND HOLY

PRAYER TO ST SEBASTIAN Dear Commander at the Roman Emperor's court, you chose to be a soldier of Christ and dared to spread faith in the King of Kings---for which you were condemned to die. Your body, however, proved athletically strong and the executing arrows extremely weak. So another means to kill you was chosen and you gave your life to the Lord. May athletes be always as strong in their faith as their Patron Saint so clearly has been. Amen.
